DECLARACIÓN BALFOUR

"Estimado Lord Rothschild:
"Me complazco en transmitir a usted, en
nombre del Gobierno de Su Majestad Británica, la siguiente
declaración de simpatía por las aspiraciones judías sionistas,
cuyo texto ha sido sometido al Gabinete y aprobado por éste:

"El Gobierno de Su Majestad ve con beneplácito el
establecimiento en Palestina de un hogar nacional para el
pueblo judío y hará cuanto esté en su poder para
facilitar el logro de este objetivo, quedando
claramente entendido que no tomará ninguna medida que
pueda perjudicar los derechos civiles y religiosos de
las comunidades no judías de Palestina, o los
derechos y la condición política de que gocen los judíos en cualquier
otro país"

Agradeceré a usted se sirva poner esta
declaración en conocimiento de la Federación Sionista.

Dear Lord Rothschild.
I have much pleasure in conveying to you, on
behalf of His Majesty`s Government , the following
declaration of sympathy with Jewish Zionist aspirations
which has been submitted to, and approved by the Cabinet

"His Majesty`s Government view with favour the
establishment in Palestine of a national home for the
Jewish people. and will use their best endeavours to
facilitate the achievement of this object. it being
clearly understood that nothing shall be done which
may prejudice the civil and religious rights of
existing non - jewish communities in Palestine. or the
rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any
other country"

I should be grateful if you would bring this
declaration to the knowledge of the Zionist Federation.
